»Entrepreneurship in the chemical industry needs neither fear mongers nor a comprehensive mentality – it needs the rewards of courage to take on responsibility.«

»My wife and I founded the Schäfer Additivsysteme GmbH in 2003 with the aim of developing new products, not only those that work as catalysts in a chemical sense, but also those that function as an accelerator and crystal nucleus for the development of our customers products. Concurrently, it is our goal to show that we say "yes" to the future and "no" to the fear monger industry and the demands of a comprehensive mentality, in a domestic sense, as well as in our region and within society itself.

We are proud to be able to offer employment opportunities to young and old through sustainable company growth, where our staff members contribute to enterprise development just as we do. We place individual employees, customers and suppliers in the heart of our business and are convinced of the necessity to invest in research and development, as well as the need to expand our network with industry and universities. The collaboration with similarly oriented companies and institutions helps us to develop products faster and with less bureaucracy.

Viewed from a small business perspective, we need deregulation to be able to compete in the global innovation competition. We also demand more openness towards "the new guy" from politics and the media. That means, for example: No hasty conviction of new techniques, sound and open dialogues concerning developments taking the developer into account, the attrition of laws and regulations to make the start-up of a new business within the chemical industry easy again.

In our opinion, this ultimately calls for a prevailing social undertone that rewards the courage to take on responsibilities, as well as impeding a totalitarian, governmental way of thinking or politics, which only pursues "do-gooder passions," to be able to concomitantly secure the prosperity of future generations through courage, perseverance and diligence. «
