Whether for metals, non-metals, plastics or elastomers - the laboratory offers material testing, metallography, REM and EDX analyses, as well as physical and chemical materials analysis. k-labor also offers a wide spectrum of analyses in the area of metallography (which is used in quality control, damage analysis, as well as in research and development) such as polish preparation, structural assessments, hardness progression tests and welding seam tests, for example. The laboratory also offers climate and environmental simulation, product design consulting, development and production procedures, environmental protection, recycling and disposal services. Seven employees work at k-labor, which was founded in 2003: From material scientists to engineers for plastics technology, surfaces and materials engineering right up to environmental engineering. Iolitec nanomaterials is a division of the IoLiTec Ionic Liquids Technologies GmbH. Iolitec nanomaterials develops processes for the production of nanoparticles and the dispersion of these particles in ionic liquids or in solvents with suitable IL additives.

Heilbronn Iolitec was founded in May 2003 and is an award-winning company, whose activities go beyond the production and marketing of ionic liquids. Mannheim In addition to standard microscopical preparation applications, the Brückner Materialografie & Histologie Laboratory (founded in 2003) offers highly specialized applications using microtomy, annular saws, ultramiller and cryotechniques. Through close collaboration with our partners, we are also able to offer various methods of material analyses in addition to light microscopy analysis, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).

Customized training sessions are conducted on-site or in the company's own training center on topics such as thin-sectioning and grinding techniques or histology. The "in-house" development of preparatives and microscopics is regarded as time and expertise-intensive. The laboratory's development services or existing methodological knowledge can provide significant relief for our customers.

Rossdorf The Institute for Biological Analysis and Consulting is an independent contract research organization for the chemical industry that conducts studies according to "Good Laboratory Practice" (GLP) for the admission of pesticides, industrial chemicals, biocides, veterinary medicines and pharmaceuticals. The analysis spectrum extends from physical-chemical characterization to the fate and behavior of substances in the environment up to the institutes core area: Ecotoxicology. Concomitant and residue analyses, as well as method establishment and validation are tasks that are assumed by IBACON chemical analytics. The institute offers both standardized and customized studies - in accordance with the current state of science and "guidelines".

The admission of nanomaterials is not yet sufficiently regulated and testing procedures must be adapted to the specific challenges associated with the testing of nanomaterials. IBACON is conducting a research project for the Umweltbundesamt (German Federal Environmental Agency) together with the RWTH Aachen University. Here, environmental risks are examined by nanomaterials in compliance with relevant exposure scenarios. With this project, IBACON would like to contribute to the safe use of nano-materials and prepare itself for the routine testing of nanomaterials.
