Iolitec nanomaterials is a division of the IoLiTec Ionic Liquids Technologies GmbH. Iolitec nanomaterials develops processes for the production of nanoparticles and the dispersion of these particles in ionic liquids or in solvents with suitable IL additives.

Through close collaboration with our partners, we are also able to offer various methods of material analyses in addition to light microscopy analysis, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).

Customized training sessions are conducted on-site or in the company's own training center on topics such as thin-sectioning and grinding techniques or histology. The analysis spectrum extends from physical-chemical characterization to the fate and behavior of substances in the environment up to the institutes core area: Ecotoxicology. Concomitant and residue analyses, as well as method establishment and validation are tasks that are assumed by IBACON chemical analytics. The institute offers both standardized and customized studies - in accordance with the current state of science and "guidelines".

The admission of nanomaterials is not yet sufficiently regulated and testing procedures must be adapted to the specific challenges associated with the testing of nanomaterials. IBACON is conducting a research project for the Umweltbundesamt (German Federal Environmental Agency) together with the RWTH Aachen University. Here, environmental risks are examined by nanomaterials in compliance with relevant exposure scenarios. With this project, IBACON would like to contribute to the safe use of nano-materials and prepare itself for the routine testing of nanomaterials.
