cynora GmbH - Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen

upload/mediapool//140/cynora.jpg

cynora develops optoelectronic materials from basic organic elements for the production of organic light emitting diodes (OLED).

Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen The cynora GmbH was founded in 2003 as a spin-off of the RWTH Aachen (RWTH Aachen University), establishing itself with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2008, where it maintains an intensive collaboration with the scientists at the KIT. The enterprise was taken over by the chemists Dr. Thomas Baumann and Dr. Tobias Grab in April 2008; research activities of organic semiconductor materials were subsequently augmented. Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic solar cells possess great potential for the development of new solar cells, energy-efficient displays and lighting technologies. cynora's primary objective is to develop newer, more favorable materials for these applications to open new mass markets. Compared with conventional methods for OLED production, the cynora technology liquid processability allows for almost unlimited versatility - independent of shape and surface texture: Up until now, OLED materials had to be vaporized and processed with complex and expensive vacuum technology. Polymers and other non-vaporizable substances can now be made to produce light through liquid processing (material application as a solution). This will allow future production of ultra flat, flexible, lightweight recyclable light and energy sources in large dimensions. Since cynora scientists were able to replace iridium and platinum with less expensive, non-toxic metals without suffering any serious loss in compound efficiency, the enterprise no longer uses the usual compounds of these rare metals in its developments, which are much more expensive than fine gold. In June 2010, three funds invested a total of 3 million € in the enterprise that employs 11 people. www.cynora.de

GS GLOVEBOX designs and produces "glove boxes" for research institutions and enterprises.

Malsch GS GLOVEBOX Systemtechnik GmbH develops and builds so-called "glove boxes" for research institutions and enterprises. The purpose of a glove box is to be able to work with materials in a clean and safe manner while protecting them from environmental conditions. The box is hermetically sealed with a slight excess pressure on the inside. This prevents the permeation of outside air if the box is damaged. It is also possible to work under a predefined atmosphere within the box. Since many materials processed today in the subject area of printed electronics react with and are destroyed by the oxygen contained in the surrounding air, glove boxes are the product of choice for their examination and production. A prerequisite is an oxygen free atmosphere which is guaranteed by an inert gas contained within the box itself. The isolated work in the box is made possible by arm length gas proof gloves www.glovebox-systemtechnik.de
